Semi- DIY? Yes, semi. Semi because I took cards that I ordered online and “cute-ified” them. I liked our cards as is, but wanted to add a bit more of a personal touch. I love handwritten notes and wanted everyone on our Christmas card list to have a handwritten Christmas greeting. Call me old fashioned, I guess. Or crazy, when you send out almost 100 cards.
I ordered our cards from Zazzle.com, red & white bakers twine from Amazon (here), and found these paper doilies at the 99 cent store. Score! {You can also order small paper doilies online but they are obviously going to be cheaper at the 99 cent store. I found this out the hard way after ordering hundreds online for our wedding. Oops.}
I folded the doilie about an inch in and then cut about three feet of twine. I just eyeballed it and it wasn’t the same each time but I liked that the cards were each a little different.
I placed the folded doilie along the bottom of the card, wrapped the twine around and then tied a double knot. Easy Peasy.
The note went on the doilie. {My husband was helping me stamp our return address on the envelopes and said that after I wrote each note I held up the card and smiled. I hope that’s the same response that people had when they opened them!}
I like the look of the return address on the back on the envelope but I crossed out our address so you don’t come crash our parties. {On second thought, the more the merrier, right?}
{The McKinnons get a hand delivered note… ya, they are cool like that. They are also our neighbors. I figured I could drop off the card faster than the mailman. Not at all. Ooops, sorry McKinnons!}
I’m really happy with how these cards turned out… Do you write personal notes on Christmas cards, or is it just me?

Love them!!! We are pretty cool, but we have pretty awesome neighbors too
I hear the Evans are pretty nice too. Two awesome neighbors, wow. ;O
